Plumbing & Electrical SHSM &
Dual Credit
The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) and Dual Credit program in Electrical and Plumbing gives students an opportunity to specialize, gain qualifications, and plan a career pathway in various areas of the Electrical and Plumbing sector while still in high school. The program has a number of required components, designed to give students a “leg-up” to pursue post-secondary opportunities in each of the identified sectors, valuing apprenticeship, college, university and the workplace.
Electrical
Students will gain a solid knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity and how it functions within the home. They will learn to install, repair and maintain electrical systems, fixtures and other electrical equipment used in residential construction.
Plumbing
Students will gain a solid knowledge of the fundamentals of plumbing and how it functions within the home. They will learn to install, repair and maintain piping systems, fixtures and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution, drainage and waste disposal
